Introduction
Throughout South Africa, there are great
pockets of under resourced communities struggling for true hope and
purpose of life due to joblessness, overwhelming health issues, unspeakable
crime, lack of education and meagre living conditions. The darkness
of despair too often hovers over the daily lives of those staying
in these disadvantaged communities. Yet, in this desperate situation,
a fountain of hope has sprung, and already the lives of many are changing.

Emthonjeni is a community centre who is enriching disadvantaged communities
in a holistic fashion by assisting them to live full, meaning full
lives and empowering community leaders. Emthonjeni means “the
fountain” while Vez’ubuhle mens “show your beauty”.
As a fountain bring forth life and refreshment to those who are thirsty,
may Emthonjeni flood communities with living hope for all who are
weary and downcast to reveal her true beauty and purpose. |
